St. Mary's: Warrants, Bad Checks, & Assault


March 11, 2005 three persons were charged by Criminal Summons with Bad Check Under $500.00. Dfc. James Molitor charged Jill Marie Ryan age 36 of Lexington Park with Bad Check Under $500.00 which was a result of a Criminal Information filed in District Court for a bad check passed at Wal-Mart September 16, 2004. Dfc. Robert Merritt charged Michael Edward Ack age 34 of California, MD with Bad Check Under $500.00 which was a result of a Criminal Information filed in District Court for a bad check passed to St. Mary's County Public Schools June 9, 2004. Dfc. Kevin Roberts charged Pak Akil Mills age 29 of Mechanicsville, MD with Bad Check Under $500.00 which was a result of a Criminal Information filed in District Court for a bad check passed at Three Notch Veterinary Hospital in July 2004. All three were released pending their appearance in District Court.

March 12, 2005, Dfc. Elizabeth Trossbach investigated an assault at a residence Mechanicsville, MD. Ray Edward Padgett, age 24 of Waldorf, MD was struck in the face by unknown assailants. Ray Padgett had a swollen lip, black eye and a cut on his forehead. No one at the residence claimed they knew the assailants. Investigation is continuing.

March 12, 2005 at approximately 0309 hours, Sgt. Christopher Medved stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Three Notch Rd. in California, MD. The driver was identified as Norman Henry Huhta, age 38 of Leonardtown, MD. Norman Huhta was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. During processing it was discovered there was a warrant for Norman Huhta in Charles County, MD for Burglary, Third Degree and Malicious Destruction of Property under $500.00. The charges were a result of an incident that occurred in White Plains, MD November 27, 2004. Dfc. James Molitor charged Norman Henry Huhta with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and the Charles County charges. Norman Huhta was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and arraigned. He was released on Personal Bond.

March 12, 2005, Dfc. Christopher Morley arrested Nickey Denise Holt, age 32 of Lexington Park, MD on a District Court warrant charging Contempt. The warrant was a result of Nickey Mason not appearing in court in December 2004. She was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and arraigned. She was held on $943.18 cash bond.

March 12, 2005, Dfc. Christopher Morley located Joseph Abbott Baker Sr., age 39 of Park Hall, MD in the parking lot of Cooks Liquors in Park Hall. A check on Baker indicated there was an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on a Child Support Case. He was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held on $25,819.43 cash bond.
