Mechanicsville Home Invasion-Suspects Quickly Apprehended


On 12/07/04 at approximately 0058 hours, patrol officers from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police responded to a residence in Mechanicsville for a reported shooting. Investigation revealed the suspects, Jesse Snead and James Kimball, both of Mechanicsville, entered the residence, demanded money, pointed a shotgun at the occupants and later fired the weapon in the direction of the residents. Neither resident was injured as a result of the weapon discharge. The suspects fled and were apprehended shortly thereafter. Both suspects were incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. The investigation is continuing by Detectives from the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
