The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in partnership with St. Mary's County Department of Recreation, Parks, and Community Services, invites citizens to participate in the society's annual Light The Night Walk scheduled for Saturday, October 2, 2004 at the Governmental Center Complex, on Leonard Hall Drive, in Leonardtown, Maryland.
Registration begins at 6:00 p.m.; the walk is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. Individuals and teams are welcome. Chick-Fil-A is the food sponsor for the walk in St. Mary's County and will be serving food and refreshments to participants during the event.
Every fall, families, friends and businesses in neighborhoods around the country participate in the Light The Night Walk to raise money for blood cancer research and patient services. Teams of co-workers, families, and friends walk together in the twilight holding illuminated balloons - white for survivors and red for supporters. The walk commemorates the many lives touched by blood cancer.
