Charles County Sheriff's Office Report for August 19, 2004


MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On August 16 at 7 p.m., a Ford pick-up truck driven by James Anthony Arnone, 55, of Waldorf was traveling westbound on Acton Lane at Business Park Drive in Waldorf when the driver crossed the center line. A Dodge Durango driven by John Anthony Heneham, 51, of Waldorf was traveling eastbound on Acton Lane and subsequently struck the Ford. The Ford then struck an Infiniti I30 traveling northbound on Business Park Drive and overturned. The drivers of the Ford and the Dodge and Patrick Wellesley Wedderburn, 53, of Waldorf, the driver of the Infiniti were not injured. The passenger in the Dodge, Terri Lynn Phelps, 51, of Waldorf, sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported to Civista Medical Center. Officer B. Taylor is investigating.

ASSAULT: On August 14 at 9:52 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a parking lot in the 2000 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for the assault. Investigation revealed a 44-year-old Clinton woman assaulted her husband, a 51-year-old Clinton man. The man then assaulted a 45-year-old Fort Washington man. The Clinton man was charged with First- and Second-Degree Assault and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Charges are pending against the woman. Officer E. Baker is investigating.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 9 a.m. on August 8 and 8 a.m. on August 10, suspect(s) forced entry into a residence in the 200 block of Cedar Lane in Indian Head, stole property and fled the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-743-2222. Officer R. Gass is investigating.
