The Charles County Technology Council is a 501 c (6) non-profit organization. The CCTC acts as a cooperative alliance dedicated to the advancement of people, technology, and ideas, in Charles County. CCTC programs include speaker's series and seminars such as the CxO Breakfast Series, the recently established Technology Excellence scholarship program, monthly business networking events, co-sponsored events such as the Leading Edge Awards, Charles County Economic Summit, and the Indian Head Tech Transfer Forum. The Patuxent Partnership (TPP) is a private not-for-profit consortium of over 200 companies, federal laboratories and academic institutions that has national reach. TPP is engaged in marketing the region's technology capabilities, fostering business collaborations, developing workforce, transferring technology and developing academic partnerships. The Partnership's office in Lexington Park contains an administrative center, serves as a technology incubator and provides conference space for members' use. Maryland's Technology Development Corporation's (TEDCO) only satellite office in the state is located on-site. The Partnership also maintains an office in Norfolk, Virginia.

The Southern Maryland Navy Alliance is a multipurpose private organization governed by an elected Board of Directors. Our mission is to support the Naval facilities at Patuxent River and St. Inigoes as an economic asset and resource to the Southern Maryland region. Its objectives include:

• supporting and expanding the thousands of defense-related jobs in the Southern Maryland region, which includes vigorous support for the policies and budgets of Naval Aviation within the Congress and the Executive branch of the U.S. government.

• educating and informing local business leaders, citizens and government officials about the economic and cultural benefits of a strong military presence in the region and the importance of supporting regional infrastructure.

• assisting other government and private organizations with marketing the world-class science and technology assets at Patuxent River and St. Inigoes.

• acting as a coordinating body for various organizations and government entities having similar interests in maintaining a healthy and stable U.S. Navy presence in Southern Maryland.

• working on plan to address encroachment issues related to success of future BRAC rounds.

The St. Mary’s Department of Economic & Community Development (DECD) staff works on behalf of all citizens and businesses to secure a sound, resilient economy. Department divisions include Business Development, Housing, Tourism, Agriculture & Seafood, and the Community Development Corporation. DECD staff can direct qualified business to government programs which provide financing, workforce training and technical assistance. The staff also coordinates with other county, regional, state and federal agencies to promote and expand markets and encourage investment. The department produces the Technology Handbook, tourism brochures written for many audiences and a housing list of available rental properties. They facilitate technology showcases at Maryland's federal laboratories; encourage the growth of effective business incubators and assist companies with capital. The Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland was created as a cooperative planning and development agency to foster the economic development of the Southern Maryland region, which includes the counties of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's. The purpose of the Tri-County Council is to serve as a forum for the resolution of region-wide issues and the attainment of regional goals.
