 "In February of 1983 I had a house fire. I lost everything I owned. The local Salvation Army helped me out. As a way of paying them back, I purchased 11 turkeys and fixings and took them to needy families in St. Mary�s County. Since then, the program has grown exponentially. Last year we gave out 2,500 turkey baskets to local families. A basket includes one whole turkey, cans of corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, and a bag of potatoes."
