Our purpose is to unite women motorcyclists with friends of common interest; promote a positive image to the public of women on motorcycles; and help educate its members on motorcycle safety and maintenance.
Founded in 1979, Women in the Wind now has over 123+ chapters with members in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Nepal, New Zealand, Portugal, The United Kingdom and the United States. Join to socialize, raise funds for excellent causes, and of course, RIDE, RIDE, RIDE!
Women in the Wind Chesapeake Divas was established in Mechanicsville, MD. Our members reside in Southern Maryland. Like our International office, we welcome all kinds of motorcycles, and our members are women from all walks of life. Our Chapter is focused on promoting motorcycle safety and helping new riders enhance their knowledge and self-confidence while learning to ride. We encourage you to get to know us before you decide to become a member. We have regular monthly meetings and generally ride as a group on the weekends when the weather is ideal.
Women in the Wind (WITW) was founded by Becky Brown in 1979. That year, Becky Brown placed an ad in her local newspaper in Ohio. Soon after, eleven women took their first ride as a club through the scenic byways of the Maumee River. Since those first women chose a name, Women in the Wind has expanded to more than 1000 members across the U.S. and into Great Britain, Canada, and Australia. The organization now has over 90 chapters.
WITW strives to educate its members in motorcycle safety and maintenance, to unite women motorcyclists with friends of common interest, and to promote a positive image to the public of women on motorcycles. WITW hosts an International conference twice a year, and all members are encouraged to attend to meet a great group of women who love motorcycling.
