The SYB Optimist of Lusby youth football & cheerleading program known as the "PANTHERS" serves approximately 200 boys and girls in and around our community ranging from 5 to14 years of age. We offer a pee-wee football program for the 5 to 6 year olds, which is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of football. This program emphasizes fun and sportsmanship. We begin early at age 7 through 14 years of age teaching foundational skills such as the blocking and tackling techniques. We also offer a cheerleading program for youth’s ages 5 to 14 which promote team building, builds self esteem, while learning cheers and routines for the sidelines as well as competition.
