By local author Ron "AAlgar" Watt.
As the title suggests, The Sarcastic Verses collects the best examples of Sarcastic Voyage from the last five years. A must for any new reader of SV, but largely unnecessary for those of you who have stuck with the column since the beginning. (Although most, if not all, of the latter are mentioned in the acknowledgements, so you may want to get a copy just to see your name in print.)
This collection includes such "greatest hits" as my trips to southern California and Las Vegas, the running saga involving my staff of interns filling in while I sought spiritual enlightenment, my "anal leakage" experience with Frito Lay's "Wow" chips and many more. If you've never read SV before, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, but trust me: some of it isn't half-bad. One or two of them are even only about one-sixteenth bad. You can't not buy this book, but you can not unbuy something that isn't not this book. Or something.
