St. Mary's Ryken is a private, coeducational secondary school sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers. As the only Catholic high school in Southern Maryland, St. Mary's Ryken draws from a large geographic region including Prince George's, Charles, Calvert and St. Mary's Counties.
The values-centered, college preparatory curriculum and SMR STEM 100 program (in partnership with the Naval Air Station Patuxent River Educational Partnership Program) offer a rigorous and challenging course of study for all students. For advanced students, there is the X-Pax program of accelerated study. (Separate application required.)
Our 87-acre, college-style campus on Breton Bay provides a safe learning environment and has newly renovated spaces for the performing and fine arts programs, 41 athletic teams and 55 clubs, and a new athletic stadium with a six-lane track.
A student's spiritual growth and development is nurtured through the campus ministry program, and there are many opportunities for our students to fall in love with the service of God through retreats, weekly Mass and community service.
