Our Southern Maryland regional office and other SBDC offices throughout the state are here to help you succeed with your small business startup, to help you onto the right track, and to support you on the road to a strong, healthy business. SBDC counselors are also entrepreneurs who have developed their own successful businesses and offer excellent advice to businesses needing assistance in small business development or technology. During the past three years, the Southern Maryland SBDC has counseled more than 1,200 entrepreneurs and helped businesses obtain more than 90 loans providing nearly $15 million in capital. With no-cost counseling, low-cost instructional programs, experienced counselors, and a vast array of references and community resources, the St. Mary’s County SBDC office is one of the most valuable business resources today.

In response to the changing needs of entrepreneurs in St. Mary’s County, the Small Business Development Center offers no-cost counseling five days a week. SBDC counselors can help clients create business plans, find sources of capital, develop marketing and promotional objectives, and learn basic accounting, technology, and managerial skills. The SBDC reference library and 8(a)/SDB certification software is available for walk-ins daily from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., and business start-up classes and Quick Books® training are offered regularly.
