Over 12,000 employees make up the team of dedicated professionals within the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS). With a mission of providing public safety and victim services to the citizens of Maryland DPSCS is composed of 10 agencies and 8 boards and commissions distributed across the state. On any given day DPSCS is responsible for approximately 150,000 criminal cases and 28,000 incarcerated offenders in three correctional systems.
