Beginner, intermediate and advanced level students will all benefit from these enjoyable classes learning different techniques and the use of various mediums. The community is invited to join the Commissioners of St. Mary's County, the Department of Aging & Human Services, and the Triad/SALT Council to thank this year's Law Enforcement Officers of the Year and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to their community.

Law Enforcement Appreciation Day will be held Tuesday, May 3, 11:30 a.m. at The White Rose, located at 21030 Point Lookout Road in Callaway.

The Officer of the Year from each agency will receive recognitions from the Commissioners of St. Mary's County, Governor Larry Hogan, the Maryland Senate, the Maryland House of Delegates, the Triad/SALT Council and others.

The community is invited to stay for lunch, free of charge, following the ceremony. This event is free and open to the public.

Charles County Sheriff’s Office Teen Court Coordinator and Victim/Witness Service Coordinator will be hosting an information session for parents on Tuesday May 03, 2022 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This information session will cover some of the following:

— Identify available local and regional resources for victims of crime.

— Identify similarities and differences in how children and adults respond to a traumatic experience (I.e. Being the victim of a crime).

— Identify potential influences on trauma responses.

— Identify ways to help children who have experienced being the victim of a crime.

— Identify the risk and protective factors that have an impact on youth, and what actions families can take when their child is struggling
