“The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” while not intended for children, is a happy-go-lucky view of small-town vice and statewide political side-stepping. It recounts the good times and the demise of the Chicken Ranch, known since the 1850s as one of the better pleasure palaces in all of Texas. Governors, senators, mayors, and even victorious college football teams frequent Miss Mona’s cozy bordello, until that Puritan nemesis Watchdog focuses his television cameras and his righteous indignation on the institution. The play will be presented at the Three Notch Theatre, 21744 South Coral Drive, LexingtonPark, MD 20653. Tickets are $18 for adults; and $15 for seniors, students and military. All tickets may be purchased online at www.newtowneplayers.org, or by calling 301-737-5447.
