Head to St. Clement’s Island Museum for a weekend commemorating a forgotten tragedy of the Civil War—the Black Diamond Disaster. On April 23, 1865, eighty-seven (87) lives were lost when the Black Diamond and the steamer Massachusetts collided in the Potomac River near St. Clement’s Island during the hunt for John Wilkes Booth. Includes free museum admission, free water taxi rides to St. Clements Island State Park, Sunday Commemoration Ceremony, and concert by the Federal City Brass Band.

Guests must practice social distancing and wear masks. All food is "to-go", no seating or lingering onsite.

Following dinner, guests will re-board the boat and enjoy another speaking tour on the way back to their cars at the Museum.

His work with local hospitals, healthcare and other organizations in diversity, equity, and inclusion is guided by his steep understanding and desire to appreciate concepts that drive difference in society. He has enabled research, policy, and community efforts that expand services to underrepresented and vulnerable populations since 1997. Mr. Ragsdale is an associate faculty member at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
