All bids start at $25.00 and increase in $5.00 increments. Each basket or container has great items inside of each one. Friends of Cedar Lane Board Announces “The Big Raffle” featuring $12,000 in total cash prizes.

Just 400 tickets will be sold for this fundraiser, with proceeds benefitting the residents of Cedar Lane Senior Living Community.

“The Big Raffle” is a six-week fundraiser in which anyone age 18 or older can enter to win up to $12,000 in total cash prizes including a grand prize of $10,000. The event is conducted by Friends of Cedar Lane, the fundraising affiliate of Cedar Lane Senior Living Community. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to benefit Cedar Lane’s 196 residents.

Tickets are $100 each and only 400 will be sold. With six cash prize drawings, chances of winning are 1 in 66. Each week, the winning ticket is returned to the drum for a chance to be selected again. Winners need not be present to win. All winners will be notified. Each raffle ticket offers the chance to win one or more of these cash prizes:

This workshop takes place at the Godiah Spray Tobacco Plantation.

Coloring with natural materials is an ancient art that is filled with surprises. Join us for an informative and fun hands-on workshop to learn about the history and traditions of the sacred red dye made from the Cochineal insect. Participants gain an understanding of the biology and chemistry of using natural materials to achieve color, and learn about traditional dyeing methods.

Designed for children ages 6 and older

$10.00 per child ($8 for Friends members)

If signing up for multiple workshops, each additional workshop is $7 per child ($5 for Friends members)

The workshop fee covers admission to the rest of the museum for the day.

This workshop takes place at the Waterfront.

Students will have the opportunity to learn the artistic skills required of 17th-century sailors, and the ways in which they would communicate. Participants will have the opportunity to board the Maryland Dove and go below deck. Participants will try their hand at knot tying, learn about nautical charts, and see a gunnery demonstration.

Designed for children ages 6 and older

Witchott, wickiup, wigwam, and longhouses are all names for the grass and wood structures that Native peoples up and down the East Coast of the United States called home. Join us at the Woodland Indian Hamlet to discover what makes a witchott, how the site builds and maintains our houses, and even try your hand at one of the many tasks needed to keep our witchotts up and running.
