Call for South Asian Artists: The Towson University Asian Arts and Culture Center is inviting visual art submissions from South Asian diaspora artists in the greater Baltimore and Washington DC area for the upcoming gallery exhibition Creative Confluence: South Asian Community Reflections, Connections, and Dialogue happening in Fall 2022. Summer is the time for fun and adventure. HSMC offers a great outdoor environment for creative learning. Join us for our summer workshops; designed for kids with curious minds, who want to learn a new skill.
Come spend the morning exploring the HSMC’s waterfront. Step on board the Maryland Dove and experience the life of a sailor long ago. Learn about the journey, work, meals, and pastimes. What was the river like? What resources did it provide to those who settled here? Participants will explore the waterfront environment and learn about the St. Mary’s River and will have the opportunity to make their own fishing poles, learn basic fishing techniques, and try out their new skills in a catch and release activity.
$25 / Members $15
Rain or Shine. Space is limited, pre registration with full payment required.

Let’s get clay creative! Art pottery projects have a real appeal for those looking to be hands-on and create from scratch.
Create a stacked ceramic totem sculpture for your garden. We will discuss and design your sculpture, then begin creating the pieces to stack (2-3 pieces will be completed.) All materials are provided, such as clay and glaze, with firing fees also included. Participants of Session 1 are encouraged to add-on to their existing totem. Although this is Session 2, anyone is welcome to join for the first time. Registration opens on June 20 at 8 a.m. for all July/August programs. River Concert: Bach to BOP
Two Concerts in One. A Baroque first half featuring soloists from The Chesapeake Orchestra, and a second half trumpet tribute to Miles Davis, Harry James, Rafael Mendez and Clifford Brown with Dontae Winslow (trumpet) and Queen Shic (vocalist). This program features the music of Bach, Vivaldi, Harry James, Gil Evans, Clifford Brown, Rafael Mendez, Burt Bacharach, and more! Chesapeake Orchestra soloists include José Cueto, (violin), Bryan Bourne, (trombone), Zachary Silberschlag and Jeffrey Silberschlag (trumpets).

St. Mary's College of Maryland, along with the Chesapeake Orchestra and its Music Director Jeffrey Silberschlag, are proud to announce the program for the 2022 River Concert Series. A Southern Maryland tradition now in its 24th season, this family-friendly music festival, and winner of two Governor's Awards for Arts, Tourism, and Community Economic Development, will be held on the St. Mary's College Townhouse Green. Mainstage programs will be on Friday evenings at 7 p.m. starting on June 24, and continuing on July 1, 8, 15, and 22.

The River Concert Series program is subject to change. Food and beverages, provided by local vendors, will be available for purchase on location. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own refreshments. Concerts are free and open to the public.
