Chesapeake Choral Arts Society Announces Auditions for 2020 Season Do you like to sing? The Chesapeake Choral Arts Society, under the directorship of Leroy Pressley, is looking for additional singers. The Choral group focuses on extended Choral works as well as various choral styles and periods of music. We will be conducting auditions on Monday, January 6th, and Monday January 13th, beginning at 6:30 PM by appointment. Alternate dates may be arranged. Auditions will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 11610 Rubina Pl. Waldorf, MD 20602. Auditions will consist of vocal warm-ups, pitch matching and vocal exercises to determine the singer's vocal range. No prepared piece is necessary! High School age and older singers are welcome. The chorus is especially looking for tenors and baritones/basses, but ALL voices are appreciated. The choir meets regularly from September—June, rehearsing Monday evenings from 7:00—9:00 at Peace Lutheran Church, and performs three different concerts throughout the season. Pax River Quilters Guild will meet on Monday January 13, 2020, at 6:30 p.m at Good Samaritan Lutheran Church on Langley Road in Lexington Park. New Members and guests welcome. This month features a Night of Philanthropy. We will be working on fidget quilts, quilt-as-you-go strip blocks, and sorting pre-cuts. Bring your sewing machine, neutral threads, scissors, and pins. A big thank you to all that donate materials to make our Philanthropy a great success every year. Everyone that receives a quilt that is in Hospice, the Veteran’s home, the hospital or Nursing home in our community finds joy and comfort in these quilts made with love, by the members of Pax River Quilt Guild.
