Visit one of the nation's best-preserved one-room African American schoolhouses one Saturday of each month. Check out the renovated schoolhouse and learn about its rich history and importance to education in St. Mary's County. Staff will be available at the school during this time to answer any questions and provide information.

The Museum Division also offers special programs for school, bus and other tour groups who would like to visit the site. Visitors who would like to see the schoolhouse outside open house hours can contact Piney Point to arrange a visit at 301-994-1471.

Looking for people to join our am or pm feed shifts as well as many of our 'behind the scenes' opportunities. No experience necessary. At the orientation, volunteers will learn our specific feed shift routine, how to groom a horse as well as the importance of safety and awareness when working around horses. The orientation is hands on.
