Betty Lee Russell, 88, passed away April 23, 2024 at Solomons Nursing Center. She was born June 3, 1935 in Washington, D.C. to Walter Conrad and Dorothy Elizabeth (Kerns) Lambert. Betty was raised in Bladensburg and attended Bladensburg High School. She married Robert Franklin McClelland in 1951. After they were married, Robert was stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they lived for several years before moving back to Landover Hills to start their family. Betty worked for the Federal Government as a Management Analyst and she retired from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. She moved to Chapline Place in 2010 and then later to Solomons Nursing Center. Betty enjoyed crafts, especially quilting. She traveled around to quilting classes and shows, she loved showing off her work and won many awards through the years. While living at Chapline Place, she enjoyed calling BINGO games.

Betty is survived by her daughter Debra Ann Holt and husband Michael of Huntingtown and a grandson Brian Holt also of Huntingtown. She was preceded in death by a son Robert James "Jimmy" McClelland.
