Robert Lee Dofflemyer 85 of Waldorf, MD passed away on Thursday March 7, 2024.

Robert was born in Hagerstown, MD on October 29, 1938 to the late James and Freda Dofflemyer. He is also predeceased by his wife, Betty Dofflemyer and his brother, Byron "Semore" Dofflemyer.

Robert is survived by his son, Norman "Bill" Dofflemyer; daughters, Brenda Dofflemyer, Bernadine Whalen, Betty Dofflemyer and Bobbie Ferrari. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Robert spent his career as a Service Technician for National Cash Register. His passion was being a volunteer firefighter. He started his firefighting career in Hagerstown then to District Heights and then to Waldorf from 1965 until 2024. He served as an instructor for the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. Robert also loved coaching children the fundamental skills in baseball and football.

The family will receive friends on Thursday March 14, 2024 from 9:30 AM until his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM at the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department Co. 3 (3245 Old Washington Rd. Waldorf, MD 20603). Interment to follow at the Trinity Memorial Gardens (3221 Mattawoman Beantown Rd. Waldorf, MD 20601).
