Janice Marie Harrison Lynch, age 74, of Owings Maryland passed away on September 6, 2023, at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, Maryland in the arms of her husband Mark and her daughter Christina. She attended public schools in Maryland and was employed as a Senior Account Representative of First American Title Insurance Company.
Janice married Mark S. Lynch Esq. in 1987 and they resided in Upper Marlboro Maryland until moving to Owings, Maryland in 2000. Janice was a successful real estate professional and earned the respect of her peers by the achievement of the designation of Certified Land Title Professional. She was recognized by the real estate industry in Maryland by her election as President of the Maryland Land Title Association in 2005 and she presided over the largest Convention of real estate professionals in Maryland in the history of the MLTA.
Janice was an accomplished antique dealer and traveled to London England for many years to scour the countryside for antiquities which she restored and sold at antiques shows and Savage Mill Antique Center in Savage Mill Maryland. Janice's antiques were selected for presentation of a Victorian era bedroom at the 34th annual Decorator Show at historic "Oakdale Farm" in Woodbine, Maryland in 2022.
Christmas was a magical time for Janice, and she would host for many years a Christmas Brunch at her home in Owings where dozens of family and friends gathered to share food, blessings, special moments and participate in what became a traditional singing of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Janice felt blessed in life and shared those blessings by donating to the Project Echo Homeless Shelter in Prince Frederick, Maryland and attending and donating to the annual holiday auction for Hospice of Calvert. Janice's Hospice Christmas Tree remains in her home today.
Janice was a passionate and devoted mother to her daughter Christina and a loving "Nonie" to her beloved twin grandsons, Bryce Howard Paige, and Chase Steven Paige. Janice loved spending weekends at her grandson's soccer games and tournaments in North Carolina, DC, Virginia, and Maryland. Janice continuously encouraged her grandsons to victory on the field and on extremely rare occasions consoled them in defeat. While Janice was proud of her grandsons Chase and Bryce for their athletic and scholastic ability, she was most proud of "her boys" for being compassionate, caring, loving, respectful and joyful children. Janice wanted most in life for her daughter Tina and "her boys" to have successful and happy life journeys. A special joy for Janice was dinner on the deck of her home overlooking her gardens with Mark, Tina, Chase and Bryce and the inevitable UNO card games that would last well into the night.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Harrison Sr. who passed away in 2000 and her mother Constas Ann Harrison, at age 101 in 2023. Janice is survived by her husband Mark S. Lynch Esq. of Owings, Maryland, her daughter Christina (Tina) Marie Buck of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, her twin grandsons Chase Steven Paige and Bryce Howard Paige, her siblings Patricia A. Riddle and her husband Jimmy of Tracy's Landing, Maryland, Beverly J. Smith of Portsmouth, Ohio, William Henry Harrison Jr. of Clarksville, Indiana, Josephine C. Guarino of Annapolis, Maryland and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
