Tammy Kay Cotner, 57, of Prince Frederick, Maryland passed away January 14, 2023 at Calvert Health Medical Center. She was born on October 22, 1965 in Brunswick Maine to Walter Lee and Barbara Kay Cotner.

Tammy is survived by her mother, Barbara Kay Cotner, sisters Tracy Rena Voegtli and Husband Thomas Paul, Tera Lee Swann and Husband Craig and her brother Thomas Nelson Cotner. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and her Arc family.

Tammy was a Diva who loved babies, puppies, music, dancing in her wheelchair, shopping and being around people. She always had a smile on her face and never forgot the people that she met. She was the 1977 Poster Child for March of Dimes when she was 11, as well as participating in the Maryland Special Olympics in 1983. After graduating High School in June of 1987, she worked for Calvert Diversified Services, one job being that she distributed mail at the Calvert County Courthouse. Tammy was the sweetest beacon of light in this world and had a great impact on many whom had the privilege of knowing her and found a warm place in their hearts forever.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday January 18, 2023, 2:00 PM at Christ Church, 3100 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic Maryland. Should friends desire, contributions may be made in memory of Tammy to the Arc of Southern Maryland, 355 West Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick, Maryland 20678 or to the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Washington DC, 3727 14th Street, N.E. Washington, D.C. 20017.
