Rose Marie Countiss, 83, of White Plains, Maryland.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name." Psalm 103:1

Rose Marie Countiss was born October 22, 1939 in Charles County, Maryland to the late Andrew H. Kelly and the late Mary Marie Bell.

Rose was educated in the Charles County Public School System. She was gifted and talented in Home Interior Decoration, and Flower Gardening. She was a gracious homemaker; kind, courteous, pleasant and had a sweet demeanor. Her personality was full of grace as she cared for and loved her family and others. Most importantly, she loved and worshiped God our Heavenly Father. She enjoyed reading the Holy Scriptures. "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30 (NIV)

Rose entered into holy matrimony with the love of her life, the late George Preston Countiss on June 28, 1957 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bryantown, Maryland. From that union they were blessed with seven children: George Michael (deceased), George Andrew, Sheila Marie, Walter Preston (deceased), Joseph Wayne, Gail Patricia and Lorie Ann. She was raised in the Catholic faith, but later in life joined Fort Foote Baptist Church where she was baptized.

Rose was employed at Robert Hall Department Store in the early 1970's. She was later employed at Andrews Air Force Base Child Development Center.

Rose was a woman of elegance, and a wonderful blessed wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend. She was loved by many. She enjoyed going to church, and participating with the Kingdom Women Ministry fellowships and events. Rose liked to travel and enjoyed weekend getaways with the family, and dining out. She especially enjoyed the Christmas Holiday; the lights, sounds, and the sweet scents of the holiday season. One of her famous sayings was, "Trust God, pray, and it is going to be alright."

Rose leaves to cherish beautiful memories, her children, George A. Countiss (Toni), Sheila M. Lyles (Rev. Dr. Joseph), Joseph W. Countiss (Terri), Gail P. Countiss (a friend, Robert Middleton), Lorie Countiss Washington (Andre), a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting Life." John 3:16 (KJV)
