James "Jimmy" Henry Foard, age 75, passed away on August 3, 2022, at his home in Prince Frederick. Born to the late Robert and Rosalie Foard, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Calvert County. From humble beginnings, he spent most of his life working as an auto mechanic and ran a successful business for over twenty years. Jimmy had a serious bout with tuberculosis as a young adult which inspired him to seize the moment and enjoy life to the fullest. He raced go-karts, rode motorcycles, built hot rods, traveled, and was always on the go. He was known for his great sense of humor and is often described as "quite a character." But most of all, Jimmy will be remembered for his genuine care for others and willingness to help the downtrodden. He will be woefully missed by his beloved family and many friends.
Jimmy is survived by: his wife of 20 years, Bonnie Carol Foard; daughters, Connie Rose Follin (Tommy) and Wendy Mae Rawlings (Tommy); grandchildren, Leanna Wedding, Timothy Rawlings, and Justin Rawlings; great-grandchild, Mason Wedding; step-grandchildren, Shelby and Adrian Stockett; daughter-in-law, Tina Pumphrey; and his loyal canine companion, Benjamin Klaus Foard. Jimmy is also survived by siblings Teenie Foard (Shirley) and Shirley Norfolk, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by siblings Herbie, Ronnie, Gene, and Robert Lee Foard.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10 a.m., with a memorial service at 11 a.m., at Rausch Funeral Home in Port Republic. Interment will follow at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens in Port Republic. Contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.
