Ruby Jean Wile, 92 of Solomons, Md. passed away peacefully on May 10, 2022 in Huntingtown, Md. She was born on February 12, 1930 in Pontiac, MI to the late Eula McCray Lippard and Clinton C. Lippard. She was the loving wife to Dorwin Bruce Wile whom she married on February 2, 1952 in Pontiac, MI and he preceded her in death in 2011.

Growing up with 11 siblings, Ruby learned the importance of helping others at an early age. Her parents instilled a selfless attitude that she carried throughout her life. Ruby graduated in 1948 from Pontiac High School and went on to attend and graduate from the American Institute of Banking in 1952. As a dedicated Navy wife, she lived in many places while raising her family and enjoyed entertaining dinner guests. She enjoyed numerous arts and crafts outlets. She worked as a Banker for over 40 years, retiring in 1992. After retiring, Ruby and her husband moved to Calvert Co. from Anne Arundel Co. where they remained. Ruby and her husband Bruce shared a passion for boating, spending countless days at the Navy Rec Center in Solomons. After retiring from the professional world, she dedicated her remaining years to community service in numerous outlets in Calvert County. In her final years she took great joy in maintaining the close relationships with those who she volunteered with for so many years along with the friends that became family in the Ben Garner community.

Ruby volunteered at SMILE and Calvert Co. Meals on Wheels, Inc. for 20 years, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary (Vice Chairperson), Southern Pines Senior Center Council (Past President), Solomons Nursing Center, Project Echo, Park Chesapeake HOA (Past Treasurer), and was an active member of the Ben Garner Active Adult Community. She was also a member of St. Paul and Solomons United Methodist Churches. She was nominated for one of "Maryland's Most Beautiful People" in 1997, Inducted into Maryland's Senior Citizens Center Hall of Fame in 1997, American Legion Post 274 "Outstanding Service to Community" in 2002, Recognized by Calvert County Office on Aging in 1998 and 1999, Calvert County Women's Recognition Award recipient in 1999, and was a decorated volunteer of Calvert County Meals on Wheels, Inc.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Anita Wile Robinson of Huntingtown, Md.; identical twin sister, Betty Colfer (Robert) of MI; granddaughter, Leah Jean Barbato (Keith) of VA; niece, Karen Bailey of MI; and great-niece / nephew, Kelsey and Robert of MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Bruce Bennet Wile; siblings, Margaret, Odell, Ioan, Clifford, RC, Lila, JW, Joan, Clinton, Jr., and Faye; and son in-law, Danny Robinson.
