Robert "Bob" Gregg Durbin, age 78, died Oct. 7, 2021 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Facility after an ongoing illness. Bob, born March 2, 1943, in Charleston, WV, was the son of Martha and Robert Durbin. Bob was a longtime educator, teaching Latin at St. Mary's Ryken High School, in Leonardtown, for more than 40 years. He retired in 2010. He also taught Latin at Cardinal Gibbons High School and Calverton. He served throughout his career as athletic director, golf, tennis, cheerleading coach, the founder of the Latin Club and the Celtic Club at the school. He also supported the school's Shakespearean Drama Club. Bob was a graduate of St. Mary's Seminary and received a masters degree in secondary education from Loyola University of Maryland.

He loved walking along the beaches near his home in Drum Point, working with students, travel, and the study of foreign languages. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy, his step-daughter, Leslie Gallagher, and his twin brother, Thomas "Tom" Durbin. He is survived by his son, Andrew Durbin and daughter-in-law Anna Durbin (Papierniak) of Baltimore, his step-son, James Gallagher, of Solomons, his siblings Charles "Chuck" Durbin and Mary Durbin, of Palm Harbor, FL, his four grandchildren and friend Evelyn Fenner.
