Helen Marie Creighton, 82, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away suddenly on May 18, 2020.

She was born in Richmond, VA and spent her childhood in the small town of Hopewell, VA.

As an early teen her family moved to the Washington, DC area, where she would meet her late husband, James Creighton. They built a long and happy life together.

Helen worked for many years at the DC School Board until she retired and found her true calling, being a substitute teacher. She worked at White Marsh Elementary School. She found true friends and a joy working with children. She would run into kids she taught through her years and they would come up to give "Mrs. C" a hug.

She was adored and loved by her family. Helen was fun-loving, and a bright light in everyone's life. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. A beautiful woman and an angel among us. Helen will be greatly missed and her memory will live on for generations.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Stephenie Goble; grandchildren, Jimi (Kristen) and Jesse Goble; four (4) great-granddaughters, Anna, Jade, Trinity and Kennedi Goble and step great-grandsons, Dylan McNey and Jordan Oliver.

We all love her and will miss her every day.

The family will receive friends for Helen's visitation on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Walter Herbert at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will be private at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
