On Sunday, August 24, 2008, Rachel E. Wilson of LaPlata, Maryland entered into eternal rest at Civista Medical Center.

Born in Bryantown, Maryland on March 29, 1929, Rachel was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth and the late Joseph Johnson. She worked many years as a housekeeper and cook for the priests of Sacred Heart rectory. She also worked as a housekeeper for the Charles County Court House until her retirement in 1995.

Rachel served as a foster parent for many kids and received several awards from the Governor. She was known for her famous house parties and was a great cook. She loved football and was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan.

Rachel is survived by three daughters, Donna McPherson, Jackie Butler and Danisha Pope, two sons; Ricky and David; son-in-law, Alvin (Binky) McPherson, daughter-in-law, Lisa Wilson, and sister, Joan Newton.

In addition, she is also survived by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, along with a host of many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her many friends, neighbors and faithful companion, her dog, Lucky.

Her services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008, 9:30a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial 10:30a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, MD. Interment Church Cemetery.
