LA PLATA, Md. (May 24, 2017)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

CCSO DETECTIVES CHARGE SIX SUSPECTS IN HOMICIDE CASE: Detectives assigned to the Charles County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division have charged six suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of Samuel Keith Gemeny, 35, of Waldorf. The homicide occurred on May 16 in the 3400 block of Promenade Place in Waldorf. Gemeny was shot inside his apartment during a dispute about property. The suspects were arrested on May 17 and charged with first-degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery, and other related crimes: Dominic Xavier Daniel, 24, of Waldorf; Dominique Ariel Grant, 28 of Waldorf; Gabrielle Marie Ditella, 19, of Costesville, PA; Andrew Loren Webb, 24, of Waldorf; Morgan Tyrone Rich Jr., 27 of Waldorf and Jared Jacob Hayes, 31, of Waldorf.

VANDALISM: On May 22, during the daytime hours, unknown suspect(s) vandalized several areas of the skate park located at 1019 St. Charles Parkway in White Plains. Officer J. Ryan is investigating.

THEFTS FROM AUTOS: On May 20, officers responded to the 2000 block of Wedgewood Place in Waldorf for the report of thefts from autos. Investigation showed unknown suspect(s) broke into two cars in the neighborhood and stole money and other items. Officer D. Spencer is investigating.

STOLEN MOTORCYCLES: On May 19 at 12:42 p.m., officers responded to the 6000 block of Suzanne Drive in Waldorf for the report of two stolen motorcycles. One motorcycle is a white Kawasaki with Florida tags and the second motorcycle is an orange and black Honda with unknown tags. It was not clear when the thefts occurred. Officer D. Spencer is investigating.

MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF DRUGS AND HANDGUN: On May 17 at 7:08 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of Hunt Place and Bannister Circle in Waldorf. As officers approached the car, an odor of marijuana was detected. Further investigation showed the driver was in possession of a loaded handgun, seven ounces of marijuana, two grams of cocaine, and drug packaging materials. Deandre Marcus Smith, 20, of Waldorf, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance and illegal possession of a handgun. Cpl. P. Morgan, III made the arrest.

CCSO INVESTIGATING TWO VEHICLE FATAL CAR CRASH: On May 22 at 9:48 a.m., officers responded to Olivers Shop Road between Route 6 and Wheatley Road for the report of a crash. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Nissan sedan was travelling south on Olivers Shop Road when she lost control and struck a Chevrolet truck which was travelling north. The driver of the Nissan, Shaina Honeycutt, 22, of Bryans Road, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other occupants in the car. The two occupants of the Chevrolet were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The CCSO Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.

MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY: On May 10, John Edward Hall, 72, of Drayden, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography. The investigation was initially started last year when the Center for Missing and Exploited Children became aware of an unknown person downloading child pornography in the Charles County area. They contacted detectives with the CCSO. In March of 2017, CCSO investigators identified Hall as a suspect. A search warrant was conducted and several laptops were seized. While the computers were being analyzed for evidence, Hall fled the state. It was learned that Hall had returned to Maryland and detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant. A second search warrant was obtained and Hall was located in St. Mary's County. During the search, additional evidence indicative of possession of child pornography was located. Hall is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center. Det. K. Gross is investigating.

BURGLARY: On May 11, officers responded to a gas station in the 11000 block of Crain Highway in Glasva for the report of a burglary. Investigation showed someone broke into the building and stole cigarettes. Pfc. T. McKimmie is investigating.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: On May 10 at 11:21 a.m., officers responded to the 5100 block of Marbury Run Drive in Marbury for the report of a burglary. Investigation showed unknown suspect(s) stole tools and other items from a shed. Officer A. Singh is investigating.

SUSPECTS IN CITIZEN ROBBERY CHARGED: On May 5 at 7 p.m., detectives arrested Ja'Shon McKay, 20, of La Plata, in connection with a citizen robbery that occurred on April 19 at 3:03 a.m. in the parking lot of a gas station in the 8100 block of Marshall Corner Road in White Plains. On that day, two males assaulted a woman and stole money from her purse. One of the suspects, Francis Diamonte Thompson, 19, of Nanjemoy, was arrested on the scene. McKay was later identified as a suspect and subsequently arrested. Both suspects were charged with robbery and first-degree assault. Det. J. Feldman is investigating.

ROBBERY / CRIME SOLVERS OFFERING CASH REWARD: Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects involved in a commercial armed robbery. On May 4 at 6:08 p.m., officers responded to Modell's Sporting Goods in the 3000 block of Festival Way in Waldorf for the report of a theft in progress. Investigation showed three females and a male entered the store carrying large hand bags and a back pack. Upon entering, the suspects quickly grabbed large quantities of clothing and stuffed them inside their bags. An employee observed the suspects and called 911. The suspects sprayed the employee with pepper spray before fleeing to a tan-colored car in the parking lot. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective M. Kelly at (301) 609- 6471. CRUELTY TO ANIMALS / CRIME SOLVERS OFFERING CASH REWARD: On May 2 between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m., a pet cat was found injured in the 5200 block of Colebrook Street in La Plata. The owner originally thought the cat had been struck by a car, but doctors at the emergency animal clinic discovered the cat had been shot with a high-powered pellet gun. The cat's leg was shattered and eventually had to be amputated. He is still being treated at the clinic. Maximus is a 12-pound cat who was found by a park police officer when he was a kitten and weighed less than two pounds. He was small and jumped into the officer's car while she was on a call. The officer kept the kitten after no one claimed him, and she and her 10-year-old daughter have cared for him ever since.
