PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (May 24, 2017)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

OPEN WARRANT, POSSESSION OF HEROIN: On 5/9/2017 at 1:41 am, Corporal Esnes performed a traffic stop after following the car into the Holiday Inn parking lot on Merrimac Dr. in Prince Frederick. The driver, Bonita R. Brooks, 38 of Prince Frederick was arrested for possession of heroin and prescription medications for which she did not have a prescription. The passenger, Chazze L. Hall, 26 of Huntingtown was placed under arrest for an open warrant through the Calvert County Sheriff's Office. Both Brooks and Hall were incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 5/11/2017 at 6:35 am, Trooper First Class Barlow stopped a vehicle on White Sands Dr. in Lusby for traffic violations. An odor of raw marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. Investigation revealed 31.8 grams of marijuana. A passenger, Wayne M. Louis Jr., 35 of Lusby advised the marijuana was his and he was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE MARIJUANA: On 5/12/2017 at 2:14 am, Trooper Jones stopped a vehicle south of Chaneyville Rd on Rt. 4 in Owings for traffic violations. The odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed several small plastic bags of raw marijuana that had been prepared for distribution, a metal grinder and a glass smoking device. Zachary A. Ellwood, 24 of Huntingtown was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DUI, POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE HEROIN: On 5/12/2017 at 9:44 am, Trooper First Class Barlow responded to a single vehicle accident on Ponds Wood Road in Huntingtown . Russell W. Gribble, 35of Chesapeake Beach was taken to the hospital for injuries. A search based on Controlled Dangerous Substance and Paraphernalia in plain view was conducted. Numerous plastic baggies prepared for distribution were located throughout the vehicle as well as a digital scale and prescription pills. Upon discharge, Gribble was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF ECSTASY: On 5/14/2017 at 10:23 pm, Trooper First Class Davis stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Rt. 4 near HG Trueman Rd. in Lusby. While talking to the driver, several criminal indicators were observed and a K-9 scan was requested. The K-9 scan revealed a positive indication of Controlled Dangerous Substances. A probable cause search was conducted and 94 pills of Ecstasy-MDMA were located along with a digital scale. The driver, Tremaine J. Berry, 27 of Lexington Park was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center. A passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and received a civil citation and was released.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN: On 5/15/2017 at 2:27 pm, Trooper First Class Davis responded to a broadcast for a person having distress in the Bucket's Liquor Store parking lot in Lusby. Brandy M. Staples, 30 of Lusby, was located and was slurring her speech and her movements were delayed. A plastic straw was observed on the center console. A probable cause search revealed quantities of heroin. Staples was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN: On 5/16/2017 at 10:32 am, Trooper First Class Matthews conducted a traffic stop at Rt. 4 south of Rt. 231 in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. John F. Marshall, 34 of St. Leonard, was visibly showing several criminal indicators and a K-9 scan was requested. The K-9 scan was positive and a search was conducted. Heroin was located in the vehicle. Marshall was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM A VEHICLE: On 5/17/2017 at 9:56 am, Sergeant Bennett received a report of a theft of a vehicle registration tag. The complainant advised the tag was removed from the vehicle parked at the residence on Cassell Blvd. in Prince Frederick. The tag, MD 9CV4939 has been entered into METERS/NCIC.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On 5/19/2017 at 9:42 pm, Trooper Stull stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 south of Sherry Lane in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. Russell C. Tayman, 21 of Lothian demonstrated behavior that indicated an attempt to conceal something. A search was conducted and Cocaine was located. Tayman was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 5/20/2017 at 5:55 pm, Trooper Backus responded to Merrimac Ct. in Prince Frederick to check on the welfare of an unconscious individual. John F. Brady, 52 of St. Leonard was located partially lying in the roadway on Merrimac Court. Brady was arrested for being intoxicated and causing a public disturbance and was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On 5/22/2017 at 12:17 am, Trooper First Class Robinson responded to Project Echo in Prince Frederick for a trespassing complaint. Cynthia M. Bobick, 37 of Bowie, had been asked to leave the property by the manager and refused. When the manager contacted the police, Bobick left. She was located, stopped by police and advised on behalf of Project Echo, not to return to the property. A short time later, the manager called stating that Bobick had returned. Troopers located Bobick and while conducting a search incident to the arrest located cocaine. She was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
