LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Nov. 28, 2016)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DUI SATURATION PATROL: On Wednesday, November 23, at 7:00 pm, 7 Troopers from the MSP-Leonardtown Barrack participated in a DUI saturation patrol. The saturation covered areas in the middle part of St. Mary's County, specifically, California. During the operation, 61 vehicles were stopped; resulting in 3 subjects being arrested for DUI. 70 citations, 47 warnings and 17 SEROs were issued. One civil citation for possession of Marijuana less than 10 grams and 1 civil citation for under age possession of alcohol were issued.

THEFT: On November 10, at 4:53 pm, Tpr. D. Coppedge responded to the Wal-Mart for a reported theft. Investigation revealed that Khaleel Delano Thompson, 18, of Lusby, had attempted to steal merchandise from the store. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack for processing. Mr. Thompson was issued a criminal citation for Theft Less than $100 and released. ASSAULT, DISORDERLY: On November 11, at 11:18 pm, TFC S. Ditoto responded to ABC Liquors for the report of a disorderly subject. Investigation revealed that Justin Corrado McGee, 25, of Saltsburg, PA, had been using profanity and arguing with other bar patrons. Mr. McGee then sprayed the band with beer and was instructed to leave. Mr. McGee refused to vacate the bar and attempted to assault a security staff member. When TFC Ditoto arrived, Mr. McGee continued to act disorderly and was issued a Notice Not to Trespass. Mr. McGee then pushed a St. Mary's County Deputy who was assisting. A brief struggle ensued, and Mr. McGee caused damage to a marked Maryland State Police patrol vehicle. He was placed under arrest and spit into an assisting St. Mary's County Deputy's face. Mr. McGee was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with Assault—Second Degree, Resisting Arrest, Fail to Obey a Lawful Order, Disorderly Conduct, and Public Intoxication. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (16-MSP-046653)

BURGLARY: On Friday, November 18, at 7:53 pm, Tpr. Opirhory responded to the 46000 block of Columbus Drive for a reported trespassing. Investigation revealed that Henry Kamwood Chang, 47, of Lexington Park had been evicted on November 14, 2016. On November 18, 2016, a witness observed the door to the residence opened and the dead bolt damaged. When he entered the house, he observed Mr. Chang in the hallway. Mr. Chang left the scene prior to police arrival. A summons was issued for Mr. Chang for Burglary—Fourth Degree and Malicious Destruction of Property less than $1000. On November 19, 2016, Tpr. Opirhory responded to the St. Mary's County Detention Center to make contact with Mr. Chang, who had been arrested for an additional burglary to the same residence by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. He was served with the summons without incident. (16-MSP-047726)

SHOPLIFTING: On Sunday, November 20, at 3:03 pm, Tpr. D. Coppedge responded to the Wal-Mart for a reported theft. Investigation revealed that Amanda Marie Pinkney, 25, of Lexington Park had attempted to steal numerous items. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. She was charged on a criminal citation for Theft Less than $1000 and released. (16-MSP-047977)

ARSON THREAT: On Thursday, November 24, at 7:26 pm, TFC B. Ditoto and Tpr. Burton responded to the 46000 block of Rogers Drive for a subject pouring gasoline on a residence threatening to burn the house down. Investigation revealed that Gary Victor Shubrooks, Jr., 25, of Saint Inigoes, had refused to leave the residence, retrieved a can of gasoline, and poured gasoline on the front of the residence. Mr. Shubrooks was located and placed under arrest for Arson/ Threat. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. THEFT: ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26, AT 8:59 am, the victim called the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack to report a theft. The victim advised her Iphone had been stolen from her place of employment. Apple was contacted and the phone was traced to the 21000 block of Old Missouri St. Tpr. Holson responded to the area and made contact with Tyeshera Cherice Hawkins, 30, of Lexington Park. Ms. Hawkins admitted to having the phone and a criminal summons was issued. The summons was served on November 27, by Tpr. Holson, and Ms. Hawkins was charged with Theft Less than $1,000. (16-MSP-048839)
