Accokeek Crash Claims One Life


UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (Oct. 17, 2016)—A fatal collision in Accokeek early Saturday morning claimed one life. The victim is 21-year-old Jaylen Williams of Thornberry Drive West in Upper Marlboro.

On October 15, around 1:15 am, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Indian Head Highway and Berry Road for a crash involving three cars. Upon arrival, officers discovered Williams suffering from critical injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals Williams was traveling northbound on Indian Head Highway approaching the intersection of Berry Road. Two cars were turning left from southbound Indian Head Highway onto Berry Road with the right of way. Williams's car entered the intersection against a red signal and stuck the two vehicles in the intersection. The drivers of those cars were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injury.
