MSP Reports for Calvert Co.


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Sept. 15, 2014)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On 9/10/2014 at 7:58 pm, Trooper Newcomer stopped a vehicle for traffic violations at Rt. 4 and Western Shores Blvd. in St. Leonard. While speaking with the driver, Trooper Newcomer observed white powder flakes on the seat and clothing. Leah M. Richardson, 36 of St. Leonard, was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DUI, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 9/12/2014 at 12:42 am, Trooper First Class Wiesemann responded to a personal injury crash on Rt. 4 at German Chapel Rd. in Prince Frederick. A juvenile driving while intoxicated crashed into the side door of another vehicle and subsequently lost control of the vehicle. The juvenile left the scene, was located and arrested. A probable cause search prior to storage of the vehicle revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The juvenile was transported to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing and was released to a parent.

DRIVING WHILE SUSPENDED, THEFT: On 9/12/2014 at 7:10 pm, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle at Rt. 4 and Steeple Chase Drive in Prince Frederick for a registration violation. Albert L. Farrell, 46 of Prince Frederick, was found to be driving on a suspended license. The registration tag revealed a stolen year sticker. Farrell was arrested for theft and was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 9/13/2014 at 12:33 am, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 near Adam's Rib Restaurant in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. A K-9 scan resulted in a positive alert. A probable cause search revealed marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle. Deandre E. Vick, 23 of Washington, D. C., was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN: On 9/13/2014 at 7:28 pm, Trooper First Class Oles stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 near Wentworth Nursery in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. The driver, William H. Burns 3rd, 27, was observed dropping a syringe out of the window onto the roadway. The syringe was located. Burns, and his passengers, Thomas C. Fisher, 45, and Nichole D. Hobar, 33, all of Lusby, were all arrested and charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. They were incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 9/13/2014 at 11:40 pm, Trooper First Class Costello stopped a vehicle at Rt. 4 and Church St. in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. The odor of raw marijuana was emitting from the passenger side of the vehicle. The passenger, Steele C. Chatel, 19 of Chesapeake Beach, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing.

DUI, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 9/14/2014 at 7:36 pm, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 prior to Cove Point Rd. in Lusby for traffic violations. The odor of alcohol was emitting from the breath of the driver. Kevin D. Garrett Jr., 27 of Lexington Park, was unable to complete a field sobriety test satisfactorily and was arrested for DUI. A search incident to arrest revealed marijuana. Garrett was driving on a revoked/suspended license. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
