St. Mary's Co. Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan. 4, 2014)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT, DISORDERLY: On December 27, Deputy Bankhead responded to a residence in Lexington Park as a conservator of the peace while the victim retrieved belongings. While doing so, suspect Alesia Patrice Capers, 29, of Lexington Park, began to throw items of clothing striking the victim in the face. Capers was placed under arrest at that point by Deputy Bankhead. While the victim was walking past the suspect to exit the residence, Capers attempted to kick the victim. Capers then pushed her child who was attempting to help her. Capers continued to act in a disorderly manner drawing the attention of neighbors. Deputies attempted to place Capers into the police vehicle for transport at which time she pulled away and threw herself on the ground. She was eventually placed into the police car and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Capers was charged with 2 counts of 2nd Degree Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order, and Resisting Arrest.

SHOPLIFTING: On December 27, Corporal Maletto responded to the Best Buy Store in California for a theft. An employee of the business observed Christopher Kyle McCan, 18, of California, select items of merchandise and conceal them on his person. McCan then attempted to leave the business without paying. He was charged with Theft Under $1,000 by Criminal Citation.

INMATE ASSAULT: On December 26, Deputy Shane Cameron responded to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for an inmate assault. During an argument, the victim was assaulted by fellow inmate Jack Davis Morgan, 35, of no fixed address. Morgan was charged with 2nd Degree Assault on DOC employee (inmate).

INMATE ASSAULT: On December 30, Corporal Corcoran responded to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for an inmate assault. The investigation revealed, inmate Tyler Allen Messick, 21, of no fixed address, struck the victim inmate in the face with his fist. Messick was charged with 2nd Degree Assault on DOC employee (inmate).

VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER: On December 27, Corporal Corcoran responded to a residence in Lexington Park for a reported violation of a protective order. The investigation revealed that on December 27 a protective order between the victim and suspect James Thomas Tardugno, 53, of Lexington Park, was extended by the District Court. Later the same day, the victim arrived home to find Tardugno inside the residence in violation of the order. On his arrival, Corporal Corcoran located the suspect inside the victim's residence and placed him under arrest. Tardugno was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged with Violation of a Protective Order.

ASSAULT: On December 18, Deputy Vezzosi responded to a residence in California for a reported assault. During an argument, suspect Troy Dale Lester, 48, of California, kicked the victim in the face. Deputy Vezzosi observed fresh evidence of injury on the victim and placed Lester under arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with 2nd Degree Assault.

SUSPENDED LICENSE, MARIJUANA: On December 28, Deputy Bowen stopped a vehicle in the area of Loveville Road and Point Lookout Road for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Thomas Harry Savoy, Jr., 34, of Charlotte Hall, was determined to be driving on a suspended license and placed under arrest. During a search of his person, a quantity of suspected marijuana was found. Savoy was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with Possession Controlled Dangerous Substance - Marijuana along with the traffic citations.

SHOPLIFTING: On December 28, Corporal Corcoran responded to Walmart in California for a theft. The investigation revealed that suspect Jamie Lee Rose Emory, 21, of California, was observed by loss prevention personnel placing items of merchandise in her clothing - concealing them. She also selected some candy items and ate them inside the store without paying for them. She attempted to leave the store without paying for the items in her clothing. Emory was placed charged with Theft Under $1,000 by Criminal Citation.

OXYCODONE: On December 28, Deputy Vezzosi observed Steven Ray Lee, 21, of California, walking in the parking lot of a business located at the 44000 block of St. Andrew's Church Road after hours. He made contact with Lee who repeatedly moved in a manner as though he were attempting to hide something on his person. A search of Lee's clothing revealed a straw containing a powdery substance and two suspected Oxycodone pills. Lee was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged with Possession Controlled Dangerous Substance - Not Marijuana (Oxycodone) and Possession Paraphernalia.

ASAULT WITH KNIFE OVER TV CHANNEL: On December 29, Deputy John Davis responded to a residence in Lexington Park for a reported assault with a knife. The victim alleged that the suspect, identified as Bruce Adam Spell, 58, of Lexington Park, was intoxicated and pulled a knife during an argument over the television channel. Spell was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault.

VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER: On December 24, Deputy Bankhead responded to a residence in Lexington Park for a reported violation of a protective order. The victim alleged suspect Porsche Wakisua Mcmillian, 33, of Lexington Park, contacted the victim by phone in violation of an active protective order. Mcmillian was located at placed under arrest by Deputy Bankhead. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with Violation of Protective Order.

DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: On December 26, deputies responded to a residence in the Fox Chase Apartment Complex for a possible domestic disturbance. Neighbors reported hearing loud screaming coming from one of the apartments in the minutes prior to the deputy's arrival. When deputies attempted to make contact with persons at that apartment they received no answer. Deputies made entry into the apartment and found that the victim was inside the bathroom with a small child, while suspect Larry Matthew Thomas, 29, of Lexington Park, was sitting in the bedroom. The victim alleged the suspect became out of control during an argument causing the victim to seek refuge in the bathroom with the child. The suspect refused to allow the victim out of the room to make contact with the deputies who the victim could hear outside. Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged with False Imprisonment.
