Closing Early on Christmas and New Year's Eve
Charles County Government administrative offices and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville will close at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 31, and will be closed all day on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2014.
Landfill and Recycling Centers Holiday Operating Schedule
The Charles County Landfill and Recycling Centers operating schedule for the Christmas and New Year's holidays is as follows:
Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 31 (Closing at noon)

-- Pisgah Recycling Center
Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 (Closed all day)
-- Charles County Landfill and Recycling Center in Waldorf
-- Pisgah Recycling Center
-- Breeze Farm Recycling Center
-- Gilbert Run Recycling Center
Due to the holiday closures on Christmas and New Year's Day, the Breeze Farm and Gilbert Run Recycling Centers will offer extended holiday hours on Thursday, Dec. 26 and on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Every-other-week curbside recycling collection will not be affected.
