St. Mary's Co. Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 12, 2013)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ALCOHOL VIOLATION: On December 5, Deputy Beishline of the Lexington Park COPs UNIT observed Denise Lee Strain, 48, of Lexington Park, on the property of Millison Plaza in possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage. Strain was charged by Criminal Citation with the alcohol violation.

SHOPLIFTING: On December 5, Deputy First Class Tim Snyder of the Lexington Park COPs UNIT responded to the 2000 Liquors Store located on Great Mills Road for a reported theft. The owner alleged he observed an unidentified male subject remove a bottle of wine from the shelf, place the bottle in his jacket, and leave the store without paying, The owner provided a description of the suspect. DFC Snyder canvassed the area and located Travis Michael Quade, 18, of no fixed address, matching the description. Quade was placed under arrest and a search of his person revealed additional items concealed in his clothing. DFC Snyder contacted the Family Dollar Store and a review of video surveillance footage was reviewed. The investigation revealed Quade had stolen the additional items from the Family Dollar. Quade was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with Theft under $100.00 - 2 counts.

SHOPLIFTING: On December 10, Deputy Gaskill responded to the Walmart Store, located in California, for a reported theft. Loss prevention personnel observed a female suspect place items of merchandise inside a diaper bag. She then exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The suspect, identified as Chondra Latrice Reid, 31, of Lexington Park, was placed under arrest by Deputy Gaskill. The value of the stolen items was over $250.00. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with Theft Under $1,000.00.

Charles Rodger Wathen, 33, of Hollywood, on 12/10/2013 for Bad Check by DFC Knott
