MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 9, 2013)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, July 4 at 9:00am, TFC S. Ditoto served an Arrest Warrant (T3-16060) on Richard Adrien Hamilton, 31, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with the original charge of Assault Second Degree on June 30. Mr. Hamilton turned himself in at the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack, where he was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served with the Arrest Warrant and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, July 4 at 2:20pm, Tpr. E. Krenik served an Arrest Warrant (T316044) on Garrett Wilson Johnson, 20, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with the original charge of Burglary Second Degree on June 13. Mr. Johnson is currently incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served with the Arrest Warrant and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, July 5 at 7:00pm, TFC J. Gibson responded to the 42000 block of St. John's Road for the report of a wanted person inside a residence. Contact was made with Kelly Marie Stewart, 52, of Hollywood, whom had an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-16063) through St. Mary's County for Driving a Motor Vehicle on Highway with a Suspended License. Ms. Stewart was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was served with the Bench Warrant and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, July 7 at 10:21pm, Tpr. K. Baker responded to the Checkers Restaurant in Lexington Park for the report of a wanted person. Contact was made with Jonathan Kenneth Bryant, 18, of Lexington Park, whom had an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-16065) through St. Mary's County for CDS/ Inhaling a Harmful Substance. Mr. Bryant was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served with the Bench Warrant and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

FATAL COLLISION: On July 7 at approximately 8:18pm, Cpl. J. Pilkerton, responded to the 25000 block of Three Notch Road and Hugh Drive, Hollywood, St. Mary's County, Maryland for the report of a single motor vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed a dark colored passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on Maryland Route 235 when the vehicle left the roadway. The driver, Alfonso Eduardo Vayra, 61, of Fairfax, Virginia was subsequently ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries while on-scene. The passenger, 59, of Fairfax, Virginia was flown to Prince George's Shock Trauma Hospital where they are being treated for serious injuries. Initial investigation revealed speed is a factor in this collision.
