MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (July 8, 2013)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF OXYCODONE: On 6/24/2013 at 12:03 am, Trooper First Class West stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Governors Run Rd. in Port Republic. A search of the vehicle revealed oxycodone and drug paraphernalia. The driver, Benjamin P. Altimus, 46 of Prince Frederick, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 6/25/2013 at 5:00 pm, Trooper Barlow handled a destruction of property complaint which occurred in the 500 block of Stamper Court in Prince Frederick. The driver's side taillight of a vehicle was broken. Investigation continues.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On 6/26/2013 at 8:00 am, Trooper First Class Smith contacted an intoxicated subject on Rt. 4 near Mulberry Lane in Prince Frederick. Wade O. Shelton Jr., 49 of Owings, was staggering in and out of the roadway due to his extreme intoxication. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. His condition worsened and he was transported to the Hospital for medical testing and evaluation. Once he was medically cleared, he was transported back to the Detention Center for a Commissioner Bail Review.

THEFT: On 6/27/2013 at 12:45 pm, Trooper First Class Wiesemann responded to the Calvert Memorial Hospital Gift Shop for a reported theft. A witness reported that Robin M. Bishop 54 of Prince Frederick, had removed an item from the gift shop without payment. Video surveillance footage confirmed the theft. Contact was made with Bishop at her home and the item was recovered. Case remains open pending charges.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 6/28/2013 at 2:23 am, Trooper Oles responded to the 200 block of Shore Acres Way in Prince Frederick for a report of a domestic disturbance. During the investigation a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the apartment. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located in the residence. Jammie L. Dobson, 34 of Prince Frederick, was arrested and transported to the MSP Barrack in Prince Frederick for processing.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE: On 6/28/2013 at 7:45 pm, Trooper Matthews stopped a vehicle at Calvert Beach Rd. and St. Leonard Rd. in St. Leonard, for traffic violations. Gerald E. Gross, 34 of St. Leonard, was found to be in possession of Cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 6/29/2013 at 6:53 am, Trooper First Class Esnes stopped a vehicle in the 2700 block of St. Leonard Rd. in Port Republic for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop it was learned that the registration sticker on the tag was stolen. Charges are pending against the driver, Teresa L. Smith, 38 of St. Leonard.

OPEN WARRANT, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, OXYCODONE, HYDROCHLORIDE: On 6/29/2013 at 8:27 pm, Trooper Matthews stopped a vehicle at Rt. 4 near White Sands Dr. in Lusby, for traffic violations. During the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle revealed Marijuana, Oxycodone and Hydrochloride pills. Phllip M. McCan, 24 of Mechanicsville, was arrested and also was found to have an open warrant through the Charles County Sheriffs Office. Rachel G. Cooksey, 19 of La Plata, was also arrested. They were incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

TRESPASSING: On 6/30/2013 at 2:15 am, Trooper First Class Logsdon on routine patrol observed William J. Gray, Sr., 53 of Owings sleeping on the ground near the rear of a business establishment. A check with the Calvert Control Center advised that Gray had an active no trespass order for the same location. He was arrested for trespassing and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE, POSSESSION OF OXYCODONE: On 6/30/2013 at 8:54 pm, Trooper Matthews stopped a vehicle at Calvert Beach Rd. and St. Leonard Rd. in St. Leonard for traffic violations. The driver Jeffrey C. Tolson, 25 of St. Leonard, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed the passenger, Sarah W. Hassay, 22 of St. Leonard, was in possession of oxycodone and drug paraphernalia. Tolson and Hassay were arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
