Notice of Variance Hearing Cancellation
The St. Mary's County Board of Appeals will meet as scheduled on Thursday, March 28, 2013. However, the following advertised case has been withdrawn by the property owner and will not be heard that evening:
VAAP #12-132-00009, South Gate Self Storage: Variance from Section 63.3 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to reduce the required buffer yards; variance from Schedule 32.1, footnote 4, to reduce the required rear yard setback in the Corridor Mixed Use (CMX) District from an abutting property in the Residential Low-Density District (RL). The property is located at 21179 Three Notch Road, Lexington Park, MD as shown on tax map 52, block 8, Lot 144, in the CMX District, Accident Potential Zone 2 (APZ-2) overlay.
Commission for People with Disabilities to Present Awards Program
The St. Mary's County Commission for People with Disabilities, in cooperation with the Board of County Commissioners, presents its annual Awards program. The program was instituted to celebrate contributions made by individuals and businesses in our community, and to raise awareness regarding persons with disabilities.
Award categories include volunteer, notable employer, facility accessibility, innovative program, outstanding person with disability award, and outstanding individual achievements awards. County Government Offices to Close March 29 for Good Friday
All St. Mary's County Government Offices will be closed on Friday, March 29, in observance of Good Friday. Offices will reopen for normal business hours on Monday, April 1.
The St. Andrews Landfill, Solid Waste/Recycling Program and six convenience centers will be closed on Easter Sunday, March 31. The landfill and convenience centers will be open for normal business hours prior to and after Easter Sunday. Additionally, the St. Mary's Transit System (STS) will be closed as usual on Sunday.
All three St. Mary's County Library locations (Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown and Lexington Park) will be closed on Friday, March 29. The libraries will be open on Saturday, March 30 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
All Department of Aging and Human Services Senior Activity Centers will be closed on March 29 and there will be no Meals on Wheels deliveries.
