MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (February 1, 2013)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION: On Friday, January 25 at 1:52 p.m., troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack responded to the area of northbound Maryland Rt. 5 south of New Market Road in Mechanicsville for a reported serious motor vehicle collision. Preliminary investigation revealed a Nissan Sentra and a Chevrolet Cruze were both traveling northbound on Maryland Rt. 5 south of New Market Road and collided. The collision sent the Nissan Sentra off the roadway into a guardrail and a tree.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra was flown from the scene by Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 to the Baltimore Shock Trauma Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was released from the scene without injuries but was later admitted to the St. Mary's County Hospital Emergency Room with minor non-life threatening injuries.

Members of the Maryland State Police CRASH Team responded, assumed and are continuing the investigation. At this time the cause of the collision is still under investigation, however, alcohol does not appear to be a contributing circumstance. Any witnesses are requested to contact Corporal M. WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, January 17, at 4:00pm, Tpr. S. Ditoto served a Bench Warrant (T3-15823) on Cheryl Jean Mayojay, 44, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County for Violation of Probation with an original charge of Driving under the Influence on January 17. Ms. Mayojay was located in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, January 19, at 2:23am, Tpr. D. Buckalew served a Bench Warrant (T3-15814) on Derek Brandle Jefferson, 31, of Great Mills. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving while Suspended on December 26, 2012. Mr. Jefferson turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, January 22, at 2:15pm, TFC R. Jackson served an Arrest Warrant (T3-13785) on Thomas Lionel Wills, 35, of Callaway. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving while Suspended on January 9, 2009. Mr. Wills was located in Fort Dix, New Jersey and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Wills was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, January 25, at 11:52am, Tpr. E. Reuschling served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15820) on Stacy Lynn Sboto, 35, of Callaway. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Second Degree Assault on January 8. Ms. Sboto was located in Leonardtown, Maryland and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, January 25, at 2:45pm, Tpr. W. Couter served a Bench Warrant (T3-15831) on Joseph Poole Kline, 29, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving while Suspended on January 16. Mr. Kline turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, January 30, at 11:59pm, TFC G. Thompson served a Bench Warrant (T3-15630) on Chloe Janae Collins, 27, of Loveville. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving while Suspended on August 8, 2012. Ms. Collins was located at St. Mary's Hospital and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, January 31, at 7:00am, TFC J. Gibson served a Bench Warrant (T3-15829) on Keith Marcell Campbell, 28, of La Plata. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Second Degree Assault on January 16. Mr. Campbell was located at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
