Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (January 22, 2013)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On. Jan. 21 between 2:25 a.m. - 6 p.m., unknown suspect(s) entered a house though an unlocked window in the 3900 block of Northgate Place in Waldorf and stole a PS3 game system, XBOX 360 game system and a Toshiba laptop. PFC D. Arends is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Jan. 21 between 11:20 a.m. - 11:40 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke out a window of a house in the 400 block of University Drive in Waldorf and stole jewelry. PFC D. Chandler is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Jan. 20 at 7:24 p.m., officers responded to the 4800 block of Champlain Court in Waldorf for an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers found a back door was open. A police K-9 team responded and checked the house and nothing was reported stolen. Officers processed the scene and recovered a piece of evidence. Officer R. Walls is investigating.

THEFT FROM AUTO: On Jan. 18 between 12 a.m. - 7 a.m., unknown suspects shattered the window of a car in the 2500 block of Robinson Place in Waldorf and stole a Boss Flip car radio, Boss 1500 watts amp. and a 12" CVR dual speaker box. PFC R. Bagley is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Jan. 17 between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., unknown suspect(s) stole a heat pump from the rear of a house in the 4200 block of Sweetmans Road in Marbury. The suspect(s) also broke into the house and stole an iPad and copper wiring. Officer K. Syversten is investigating.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: On Jan. 17 between 1:30 p.m. - 7 p.m., unknown suspect(s) placed a ladder up against the rear of a house in the 3100 block of Guilcrest Drive in Waldorf and attempted to remove a screen and pry open the window. The suspects were unsuccessful. Investigators are pursing leads. Anyone with information is asked to call (301) 932-2222.

BURGLARY: On Jan. 17 at 12:21 p.m., officers responded to the 3200 block of Guilford Drive for the report of a burglary in progress. Witnesses observed a male knock on the front door of the house. When he did not get an answer, the man removed a screen from a front window and entered the house; he fled after a few seconds. Officers and a police K-9 team canvassed the area. The suspect is described as a black male, 6'0", wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black gloves and a blue hat with white lettering. Officer B. Kunz is investigating.
