LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 8, 2012)—St. Mary's County Administrator John Savich has appointed David Guyther to interim Recreation and Parks Director. He replaces Director Phil Rollins who retires March 31. His appointment is effective March 19.
Guyther is a 23 year Recreation and Parks employee, first hired in May 1988 as a Grounds Maintenance Foreman. He was promoted to his current position, Parks Division Manager, in September, 2005.
Guyther will oversee the day-to-day operations of Recreation and Parks until a permanent director is hired. Candidates for the director's position are currently being interviewed.
