LEONARDTOWN, Md. (January 29, 2012)—Police in St. Mary's County report that two kayakers discovered a body in the water approximately 30 feet from shore at the Leonardtown Wharf on Saturday around 10:30 a.m.
The deceased was identified as Frances M. Barnes, male, age 53, of Hollywood, Maryland. Barnes had been reported as a missing person on January 24, 2012.
The body was recovered and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
