St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (October 11, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On October 6 at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on Chestnut Way in Lexington Park for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Ricky Thomas Hobson, 27 of Lexington Park, engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Hobson choked the victim. The victim fled to a neighbor's residence where Hobson broke several windows trying to gain entry. Deputy Rodgers responded to the scene. Hobson was arrested and charged with second degree assault and malicious destruction of property.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On October 6 at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on Sotterly Road in Hollywood for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Thomas Allen Proffer, 27 of Hollywood, engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Proffer threw the victim to the ground and choked her. Deputy Teague responded to the scene. Proffer was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

THEFT: On October 10, Billie Jo Pitner, 36 of Lusby, entered the K-Mart store in California and took merchandise from the shelf and concealed it in her purse. Pitner passed all points of purchase and was attempting to leave the store when she was confronted by store security. Pitner fled on foot through the store parking lot. Deputy Foor responded and observed Pitner running through the parking lot. Deputy Foor was able to apprehend Pitner. She was arrested and charged with theft.
