Graduation Requirements Change for Incoming Freshman in Chas. Co. Schools

LA PLATA, Md. (August 17, 2011)—Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) has implemented a new graduation requirement for students. For students entering high school in fall 2011 and beyond, the following 23 credits are required:

-- English (English I, II, III and IV) – total of four credits;
-- mathematics (two algebra credits and one geometry credit) – total of three credits;
-- social studies (government, U.S History and world history) – total of three credits;
-- science (biology and two additional lab sciences) – total of three credits;
-- health – half a credit;
