Isleib Joins Tekla Research as V.P. for So. Md. Region

CALIFORNIA, Md. (July 15, 2011)—Tekla Research Inc. today announced that Doug Isleib has joined their company as the vice president for the Southern Maryland region. Isleib comes to Tekla with over 30 years of military and government civilian experience. Operationally he flew more than 4,100 flight hours in aircraft including UH-1, AH-1, CH-46, CH-53, VH-60, VH-3, VH-1, T-34, V-22, including a tour as a presidential aircraft commander for presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush.

In 1998, Isleib reported to the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to be the deputy program manager for the MV-22 Osprey. Additional assignments at NAVAIR included operations officer for PEO(A), and deputy program manager for the C/KC-130F/R/T/J program. Isleib was assigned as the program manager for the USMC Light/Attack Helicopter Program in July 2001. He served in this capacity until March 2005 when he retired from the Marine Corps, completing a twenty-eight year career. In May 2005, as a civil servant, Isleib was assigned as program manager for the Presidential Helicopters Program. In January 2008 his desire to focus our limited resources on both emergent and longer term needs for the Navy and Marine Corps rotorcraft communities led to his selection as Director for the Naval Aviation Center for Rotorcraft Advancement (NACRA).

According to Dave Russell, Tekla President and CEO, “Doug’s ability to create successful partnerships with industry, academia, and other services and his basic desire to support the warfighter make him a perfect addition to the Tekla family.”

“I’m as excited as I can be to be joining Tekla,” said Isleib. “The company’s core values of integrity, high performing, empowered individuals and dedication to the customer and warfighter match mine perfectly. And I’ve got to admit, there’s nothing I like better than being a member of a motivated, fun loving team, like the one I’ve just joined.”

Isleib is a graduate of the Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Air War College and has completed the Defense Acquisition University’s Advanced and Executive Program Manager’s Courses. He holds an MS in Management from Troy State University. Isleib and his wife, Cindy, live in Leonardtown and have an adult son, Brian.

Tekla Research Inc. is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business and is headquartered in Dumfries, Virginia. Their local office is located at 22335 Exploration Drive, Suite 1005, in Lexington Park.
