MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 30, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ROGUE AND VAGABOND: On Sunday, June 19 at 2:09pm, TFC G. A Thompson responded to the area of the McKay's Food Store on Merchants Lane in Leonardtown for a reported subject attempting to break into vehicles. Upon arrival, TFC Thompson made contact with two witnesses that pointed out the subject that was attempting to gain access into the vehicles. Contact was then made with subject, who was later identified as Charles Eric Carroll, 22, of Avenue. Mr. Carroll was detained by TFC Thompson while further information was obtained from the witnesses. Following information provided by Mr. Carroll, and numerous witnesses TFC Thompson placed Mr. Carroll under arrest. Mr. Carroll was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, June 23 at 7:44pm, Tpr. R. L. Jackson conducted a traffic stop on a black BMW passenger vehicle in the area of Old Village Road and Commerce Park Drive for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, Saeed Michael Medhiyoun, 27, of North Bethesda, Tpr. Jackson detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Following the arrival of additional police units, a probable cause search of the vehicle was performed. The search of the vehicle revealed marijuana inside a clothing pocket located in the rear seat of the vehicle. Mr. Medhiyoun was placed under arrest for Possession of CDS - Marijuana, and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $1000: On Saturday, June 25 at 4:20pm, a lookout was broadcasted for red Dodge Durango that was believed to be involved in the theft that had occurred at the Wal-Mart located in the 45000 block of Miramar Way in California. A description was provided of the incident and the proposed male suspect. Tpr. E. R. Mersman located the vehicle and suspect in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Maryland Route 237. Upon approaching the vehicle, Tpr. Mersman made contact with a female operator who advised she was just in the Wal-Mart but was not in the company of the male subject while shopping. Contact was then made with the male subject, who was the passenger in the vehicle. The male subject, identified as Fredy Herman Eaton, II, 46, of Washington, D.C., was detained and questioned. Mr. Eaton was found to be in possession of GPS system, which he was concealing in his pants. Following information provided by Mr. Eaton, Tpr. Mersman placed him under arrest for Theft. Mr. Eaton was transported back the Wal-Mart Loss Prevention office, where he was positively identified by the staff. The property was returned to Wal- Mart and Mr. Eaton was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, June 26 at 1:48am, TFC M. J. Pitcher initiated a traffic stop of a red Chevrolet in the area of Maryland Route 235 and FDR Boulevard for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator, Craig Michael Richardson, 28, of Westchester, Ohio, TFC Pitcher detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Mr. Richardson was asked to exit the vehicle to perform a standardized field sobriety test. He was unsuccessful in completing the test, and was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. While attempting to safely secure Mr. Richardson's vehicle, TFC Pitcher detected the odor of burnt marijuana in the vehicle. Information provided by Mr. Richardson resulted in the confiscation of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia from the vehicle. Mr. Richardson was transported the Leonardtown Barrack for processing for the DUI and then transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 28 at 9:45am, TFC N. E. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-14923) on Gerard Matthew Williams, 31, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued on May 3 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving While Impaired by Alcohol. Mr. Williams was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 28 at 11:03am, TFC M. A. Moore served a Bench Warrant (T3-15014) on John Herbert Buckmaster, Jr., 41, of Chesapeake Beach. The warrant was issued by the District Court of Anne Arundel County on June 27 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Buckmaster was located in the area of Willows Road and Bradley Boulevard in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
