St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 26, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On April 22, deputies responded to a residence on Mary Lynn Drive in Lexington Park for a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed Joseph Kenneth Morgan, 48, of Lexington Park, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Morgan struck the victim in the head with his fist. Morgan was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On April 23 at approximately 1:50 a.m., deputies were conducting crowd control on Great Mills Road as one of the local bars closed for the evening. A large crowd of individuals exited the bar and deputies noticed a disturbance. Nathaniel Darnell Young, 23, of Great Mills, was identified as the individual causing the disturbance. He was asked by the deputies to lower his voice. He initially complied but a short time later he raised his voice and began inciting the crowd. Young was again asked to quiet down. Young refused, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On April 25, deputies responded to Bristol Avenue in Lexington Park for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they made contact with Michael Andrew Dorsey, Jr., 20, of Lexington Park, who was yelling profanity. The deputies asked Dorsey several times to lower his voice and stop cursing. Dorsey refused and was placed under arrest. As deputies were attempting to handcuff Dorsey, Ingrid Cassandra Young, 40, of Lexington Park, began cursing profanity and attempted to hinder the deputies' efforts by stepping in front of the deputies to try to prevent Dorsey's arrest. Young was arrested. Both Dorsey and Young were charged with disorderly conduct and Young was charged additionally with hindering.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, THEFT, THEFT SCHEME: On April 25, deputies responded to Newtowne Neck Road in Leonardtown for a report of a theft in progress. As deputies arrived on the scene they found Jeremiah Lewis Kohnhorst, 26, of La Plata, and Hilary Min Sun Spalding, 24, of La Plata, leaving the property towing a trailer carrying two riding law mowers. Further investigation reveal the two had been removing riding lawn mowers, motors other metal items from the same property on Newtowne Neck Road and selling them at a local scrap metal dealer. The numerous thefts occurred between April 20, 2001 and April 25, 2011. The total loss value of the property stolen was over $8,000. Kohnhorst and Spalding were charged with destruction of property, theft and theft scheme.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, RESISTING ARREST: On April 25, deputies responded to Brighton Avenue in Lexington Park for a disturbance. Investigation revealed Andrew Antione Ausby, 22, of Lexington Park, beat on the window and door of the victim's residence. Ausby shattered the glass window and broke the door. Ausby fled to a near by residence prior to the deputies arrival. Deputies located Ausby and attempted to interview him about the disturbance. Ausby refused to cooperate and became combative with the deputies. Deputies told Ausby he was under arrest. Ausby initially resisted arrest but was subdued after a brief struggle. Ausby was charged with destruction of property, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

INDECENT EXPOSURE: On April 25, deputies responded to the Leonardtown Wharf in Leonardtown for a report of an individual sunbathing nude. Upon arrival deputies found John Carlos Buitrago, 27, of Leonardtown, lying naked by the water. Buitrago was in plain view of the public which was gathered on the wharf. Buitrago was arrested and charged with indecent exposure.
