MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (April 5, 2011)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

VFD SUV RUNS LIGHT CAUSING SERIOUS ACCIDENT: On 4/4/11 at 8:25 p.m., troopers and deputies responded to the intersection of Route 4 and Town Center Blvd. for a report of a serious traffic collision. Investigation revealed that a 2000 GMC Yukon, registered to the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department, being operated by Eric Holzberger, 38, of Dunkirk, was traveling north on Route 4 approaching a red traffic signal at Town Center Blvd. A 2000 Volvo S-80, operated by Christopher Garrison, 18, of Huntingtown, was traveling south on Route 4 approaching Town Center Blvd. The Volvo had a green arrow and was attempting to make a left turn onto Town Center Blvd. The GMC failed to stop for the red traffic signal and collided with the passenger side of the Volvo. Garrison and the passenger, Aron Morgan, 18 of Huntingtown, were flown by Park Police helicopter to P.G. Trauma Center with serious injuries. Holzberger was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to Suburban Hospital with serious injuries.

POSSESSION OF PILLS: On 3/29/11 at 8:59 a.m., Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rt. 4 near Walton Rd in Huntingtown. While the driver was searching for his vehicle registration, several prescription bottles were observed. Alprazolam was found in one of the bottles. This drug was not prescribed to the driver. Gary R. Broome, 2nd, 34 of Huntingtown, was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY/ASSAULT/TRESPASSING: On 3/29/11 at 9:38 p.m., Trooper First Class Landis responded to the 200 block of Shore Acres Way in Prince Frederick for a reported burglary. Terrance E. King, 21 of Prince Frederick, was found to have entered a residence without permission, assaulted one person and brandished a box cutter. He was charged and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF PILLS: On 3/30/11 at 3:07 a.m., Trooper Williams responded to the 600 block of Skyview Dr. in Lusby for a complaint that a subject was using drugs in their residence. Antonio E. Sergi, 22 of Lusby, was found to be in possession of Percocet that he did not have a prescription for and other drug paraphernalia. He was charged and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 3/30/11 at 2:21 p.m., Trooper First Class Gill responded to the 100 block of Adelina Rd. in Prince Frederick to assist the Fire Department with a house fire. A secondary search was executed to check for occupants in the residence. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were observed. Charges are pending.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 3/31/11 at 1:25 p.m., Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Chapline Place in Prince Frederick. An odor of marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. The front seat passenger, Steven L. Castillo, 2nd, 20 of Lusby, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION AND FAILURE TO OBEY LAWFUL ORDER: On 4/1/11 at 9:34 p.m., Trooper Casarella located a reported suicidal subject on the shoulder of Rt. 231 in Prince Frederick. Carl S. Smith, 43 of Prince Frederick, was found to be extremely intoxicated. He refused to cooperate with the Troopers and was placed under arrest. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY: On 4/3/11 at 02:55 a.m., Trooper West responded to the 3100 block of Whispering Drive in Prince Frederick for a reported burglary. The victim returned home to discover items being removed from his residence by his ex-wife's son. Christopher R. Bell, 33 of Prince Frederick was charged and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

Tina R. STEWART, 41, of Lusby, arrested on 03/29/11 @ 06:01 p.m. by TFC J. Wiersma

Seth L. RYBAK, 21, of Chesapeake Beach, arrested on 03/30/11 @ 12:12 a.m. by TFC K. Donaldson
